This was a really interesting session I had over at Musewav Studio - we were watching Jake Paul VS. Mike Tyson in between recording takes of Bear1Boss! The only way I could describe Bear1Boss' style would be an eclectic, avant garde version of Lil Uzi Vert. Something interesting I noticed while recording him with my manager Gengen was that in every song he recorded that night, he recorded 1 verse and hook before copy/pasting it again for the next 2 sections of the song. This resulted in his songs' lyrical content consisting of what I perceived as 2 mega choruses. The only differentiator in between sections of the song structure would be the instrumental itself or the unique adlibs he would record on specific areas of his lyrics. In some cases, he recorded his adlibs over the beat first before even beginning to record a verse or a hook. His process of creating music was similar with Matt Ox - he made songs FAST. Within the first hour he had already completed around 3-4 songs.
His unique artistic style is undeniable, especially his adlibs. It was really fun watching his creative process as we recorded him, and at the end of the session we had a listening party to all the songs we recorded that day. We then followed with another listening party in which his team had confidentially shared us 3 EP/album's worth of unreleased music. It really goes to show just how many songs a professional artist creates, as a lot of it ends up never being released. Music is so saturated that artists are selective with the many songs they create, and being able to hear his unreleased music made me appreciate all the effort it takes to create an album consisting of around 8 songs. What is originally a folder of over hundreds of songs can be whittled down to 8 when creating a project. This goes again to display my philosophy that a successful artist must always be creating art without wasting any time to overanalyze/overthink - every second of creative energy is precious. Always create, and create a LOT of work. Once your art is great quality, the quantity at which is made is what really determines your success in the modern age of music.
I am a perfectionist in music production and have found that my overthinking usually harms my creative process and the beat's quality more than it does good. Seeing the creative process of artists like Bear1Boss and Matt Ox is what pushes me to create quickly without much thinking - just create with your soul!
